Merryweather Inn is the host of Marcia Hayles’ Spirit of the Lights display! Formerly housed at Glensheen, the display is filled with whimsy and many stories!  Open December 1, 2025. It is free and open to the public. You are welcome to walk through and enjoy! Please be careful! It is winter and it will be slippery. Please stay on the paths which are indicated by the green candy canes. I might not be there—but you are welcome to message me on instagram!

Please note on wet and rainy days it is very difficult to keep the lights lit! it is a quirky old house with old electric, but we will try our best!

• Letters to Santa are accepted in the green mail box on the little pink house to the right of the stairs. Do leave a return address. Santa’s elves write back.

• Cookies available on occasion in the pink shed.

• Do not ring the doorbell. It disturbs the overnight guests. Only overnight guests are permitted in the house at this time.

Alternate side parking is available in front of the house on first Street and on 23rd Ave., East. Parking in the driveway is not permitted.

Please consider a donation! Donations help keep the lights on and the cookies stocked! We are also collection site and take donations for the food shelf and animal allies rescue  Donation items may be left in the pink shed. Please don’t forget to leave your name and contact info attached so we can send a thank you!

Christmas Teas December Fridays and Saturday from 1-3pmEnjoy some holiday cheer at the beautifully decorated Merryweather Inn! Featuring a tree in every room and an outdoor lighted display! Decorations are changed yearly so there is always something new to see!

Tea is served Fridays and Saturdays from 1:00-3:00PM Doors open at 1:00. NO EARLIER. All tickets for your group must be purchased together or seating together is not guaranteed! Your email receipt is your ticket. Please double check your date! We cannot accommodate dietary requests for this event. With prior arrangement, by texting 218-728-1339, a private group of 7 or more can customize their menu to include dietary restrictions. Alcoholic beverages are for 21+ only.

Menu changes by week due to availability of ingredients, but will always be delicious and will include:

Scones and clotted cream

Soup

2 Finger sandwiches

Seasonal Tea and 1 glass of sparkling wine is included

3-5 Assorted Christmas cookies and treats

Children under 2 no charge. Children 2-12 cookies and hot chocolate only. 

No refunds or credits. All date changes must occur by December 27th 2025 and are based on availability.
